Correcting red mud calculations

Published: Wednesday | January 30, 2013 Comments 0

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I refer to my article on the potential of Jamaica's red mud residues, carried in your issue of January 22, 2013.

I erred in my calculation of the tonnages of iron oxide and titanium oxide. These should have been 45 million and six million, respectively, both still adequate amounts for commercial processing if appropriate technologies can be developed.
