ST GEORGE'S (CMC):

Grenada police said they were investigating reports that a politician had brandished a gun during a commotion with an activist of the main opposition New National Party as campaigning continues for the February 19 general election.

The police in the rural town of Grenville said they had already taken statements from the activist, Paul John, and two other people regarding the incident that occurred over the last weekend.

The police said that it is against the law for anyone with a licence to carry a gun to expose, display or brandish the weapon in public without a proper explanation.
