THE EDITOR, Sir:
I have been reporting to the relevant authorities over many months about the rapid development of a squatter settlement on property owned by the Government in western St Thomas, namely, West Albion.
I would like the political representatives (parish council, member of parliament) to look into the matter and take steps to halt this 'development'.
It brings with it the stealing of electricity and water, no sanitary conveniences, and other attendant problems which the residents do not need at this time.
It is a disgrace to see what is happening on the said property. Land is being cleared by burning, unsightly construction with all kinds of inferior material, etc.
The residents and landowners nearby fear the depreciation of their properties.
God helps Jamaica with the ongoing indiscipline in every sphere of life. This makes for a 'brutish' existence.
Truly fed up!
