WESTERN BUREAU:Muschett High School's dream season rolled on with both their junior and senior teams picking up points over St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) and Edwin Allen Comprehensive, respectively, in the ISSA/KFC All-island Basketball Championships.

STETHS failed to show for their U-16 clash against Muschett, with the Trelawny-based school gaining 20 points and an automatic win.

Michael Schloss had a superb game for Muschett's Under-19 team, as did Trevor Mowatt, who ended with a game-high 22 points and nine rebounds in his team's big 81-56 victory over Edwin Allen at Montego Bay Cricket Club.

Schloss, meantime, was all over Edwin Allen and scored 15 points, including a spectacular dunk in the third quarter. He also pulled down eight rebounds to go with three steals and five assists, as Muschett weathered a brave Edwin Allen fightback in the second and early periods of the third quarter.

Muschett rocketed from the tip off with five unanswered points for a 10-0 lead after just four minutes, but were eventually pegged back by Edwin Allen point guard Lyndford Lindsey, who kept them in the game early with six quick points. Muschett though, held the lead 20-16 after one quarter.

finding groove

The game was kept in the balance in the second quarter, with Mowatt finding his groove in the paint at will to maintain Muschett's edge. But Edwin Allen finally began showing signs of life to keep the game close, as the teams went into the break separated by eight points at 44-36.

Taffari Turgott had a good showing with 20 points and five rebounds, while Lindsey's contribution was 12 points and five steals for the visiting Clarendon school.

Anthony Vassell added 13 points, 14 rebounds and three blocked shots for the winners, who will now turn their attention to Monday's top-of-the-table clash against Kingston College, also at Montego Bay Cricket Club

Today, Holland High will take the court against Belair High in an Under-16 clash and Herbert Morrison will battle St Jago (Under-19) at MoBay Cricket Club, starting at 1:30 p.m.
