Known for his uniquely powerful voice and spitfire lyrics, Byiome Muir, who now goes by the stage name I-Octane, took this passion for music and singing to school and could always be found beating a rhythm on the desk and entertaining his classmates. Before long, I-Octane's career skyrocketed. His catalogue continues to grow, and likewise his accolades. Only five years in the industry and he is already being compared to some of the legends of reggae.
Crying To The Nation puts I-Octane in a class of his own as one of the next generation's leaders of the conscious dancehall movement. Following in similar vein to his predecessors Sizzla, Capleton and Buju Banton, his lyrics express sentiments of faith, romance, social justice and compassion for the ghetto youth. With such a lucrative career comes a sense of style that is admired by many. According to I-Octane, "my personal style is trendy but simple. When I make an appearance, my style is not too loud or over the top. I also try to ensure that I remain cultural as well."
