Valentine's Day is around the corner. And all things considered, we still have to make the extra effort to make that special someone feel even more special. After all, Valentine's Day is the one day that is dedicated to love. This week, we asked fashion blogger and stylist Natalia Oh! to design a budget-friendly table setting that is not only affordable but very elegant and romantic. She went even further and gave all the fashion lovers a treat by designing a DIY valentine tank top.

Table setting

Supplies:

1/2 yard matte linen fabric

red felt

Satin ribbon

trimming (or fancy buttons)

Shower curtain hooks

glue gun

scissors

Napkins:

Cut fabric in a square measuring 18" x 18" (optional : allow for seamage if sewing edges down).

Napkin Rings:

Wrap shower curtain rings with satin ribbons, then use the glue gun to secure the ends.

Glue trimming or fancy button on top of wrapped ring.

Hearts:

Cut red hearts in various sizes out of red felt. (Optional: Apply glue then red glitter on some).

Tips:

Use a lace table runner to add a delicate touch to the setting.

If you can't find red vases, simply use small clear ones and add red food colouring to the water.

Use small frames to write love notes or phrases.

Use a plate charger for a stylish presentation.

Be sure to use unscented candles in your setting.

Some other colour combinations to consider: red and purple, pink and white, pink and red or peach and red.

Heart Tank top

Supplies:

Tank top

Organza fabric

Artificial flowers (very small petals)

Glue gun

Scissors

Needle and thread

Cut a heart shape out of organza fabric.

Separate flower petals.

Glue petals to heart cut-out; start from the edges and work your way in to get a better shape.

After the glue dries, sew on the design to the tank top.

Wear under a work suit for a touch of whimsy on Valentine's Day, or wear with jeans and flats for a casual look.

This is a great idea for mothers and daughters to bond over a crafting session.
