NCB to lock down Red Hills branch

National Commercial Bank Jamaica (NCB) will be shuttering its Red Hills Mall branch on March 1 after consolidating its operations into the larger Half-Way Tree branch in Kingston.

The bank said the move will give the transferred customers a wider range of facilities and access to a larger full-service operation.

Corporate communications officer Chantal Jenoure said the branches were being merged for greater operating efficiency.

"We engage in continuous assessment of our resources in order to ensure we maintain a sustainable and efficient operation," she said.

NCB owns the space that houses the Red Hills branch, but has not said what plans it has for the real estate.

"We are unable to disclose at this time," said Jenoure.

NCB, which is Jamaica's largest bank with assets of J$379 billion, currently operates a network of 47 branches and units, 38 of which are full-service branches.
