Negril's allure as a premier entertainment destination for prolonged party series has been brought even more into the fore with the inclusion of The Great Escape party series set for March 29-April 1.
The Easter weekend promises to be quite busy with entertainment activities, another party series following the staging of Great Escape, dubbed West Affair, for April 6-9 by a different group of event promoters.
During the launch of the Negril Escape at the Boardwalk in Negril, Meishtaing Henry, public relations director of Masterminds Entertainment, the organisers of Great Escape, said the event continues to show signs of growth after its debut last year.
"Negril has Dream Weekend in the summer but we want to sustain the business of entertainment during other periods of the year, and Great Escape is that event for Easter," Henry revealed.
"All the promoters are from Westmoreland and so we want everyone in western Jamaica to come out and support this party series and have fun at an affordable cost. There will be seven entertainment events and the season bands are reasonably price at $5,000. All the events will be held along Norman Manley Boulevard," said Henry.
Negril Bacchanal will start things off on March 29 at the Jungle Nightclub under the theme 'The Ultimate Soca Party'.
Escape Jouvert on the beach at Jamaica Tamboo is on March 30 before Stop Light takes place later on the day.
On Sunday, March 30, family gets an opportunity to spend time together at the Escape Family Fun Day before Soakin' Wet later in the day at Chances.
The final day will see patrons at the Chill Spot at the Italian Café and Wet Dreams party event in the evening at Sunset on the Beach.
"J.B. Overproof Rum has come on board as the title sponsor for the party series, along with others, and we want to express our gratitude to their involvement in making The Great Escape a reality. A straight code of drinking responsibly will be enforced as we want to ensure everyone has a good time safely," Henry stated.
