The main suspect in the murder of 16-year-old Martha Byrowe of Albion, Manchester, is now in police custody.

He has been identified as 33-year-old Sebastian Salmon, otherwise called 'Bruce', a construction worker of Albion district in Manchester and a White Sand, Cambridge, St James, address.

Salmon had been on the run since last Tuesday when Byrowe's body was found in a room they shared.

He was held in White Sand, St James, yesterday morning. A relative of Salmon was also taken into custody.

Felecia Bell, Byrowe's 46-year-old mother, was charged last Friday under the Child Care and Protection Act.

Bell is to appear in court on Wednesday to answer charges of failure to report a child in need of care and protection, and failure to exercise proper care and guidance to a child.
