Love was definitely in the air last Thursday as couples around the world celebrated the day of love.

For seven couples, February 14, 2013. will not only be remembered as Valentine's Day, but their wedding day, as they tied the knot on the lawns of the Registrar General Department's (RGD) Head Office. This was at the second staging of the RGD's Valentine's Wedding Extravaganz.

Marcia Blake and Lloyd Rattigan, Sherine O'Connor and Dadrian Woodburn were two such couples.

Starting at 10 in the morning, each couple headed to the well-decorated outdoor gazebo for their wedding ceremony. This was then followed by the signing of the register indoors and photographs.

Since the RGD's introduction of registry weddings in 2000, 6,500 couples have used it at their offices islandwide.
