This marriage has long been in the making.

The two were introduced in 1997 at a grandmarket in Linstead, and since then, their friendship grew from strength to strength.

Being a long-distance relationship, with Lloyd living in the United States of America, they have been talking about marriage for about three years.

"It is the perfect time and nothing really happens before the right time," said Lloyd.

Unaware that there was even a wedding promotion going on at the RGD, the two decided to set the date. "We wanted to spend the money on ourselves like on our honeymoon. We don't know where we are going as yet, but we have a couple of ideas."

With the two basking in love and their recent commitment, they are convinced that the day was just theirs as everything flowed smoothly.

According to acting marketing and planning manager Georgia Taylor-Lewis, registry weddings are a good alternative to traditional weddings. It's a budget-friendly and hassle-free wedding ceremony.

As part of the Valentine's promotion, the seven lucky couples were privy to surprises.

"The difference for the couples participating today is that we provided bouquets and boutonnieres and music. We wanted to just make it truly special for them. And in addition to this we have sponsors who gave away things like honeymoon packages and gift vouchers".
