Tonight, Bacchanal Fridays becomes Fantastic Fridays with the powerhouse invasion of Trinidad's multitalented deejay, Dawg E. Slaughter of X-Caliber International Disco. Also known as Mr Slaughter, the deejay is easily recognised by his gritty voice and undeniable mixing skills.

Although born into a musical family, the deejay, born Derek Pereira in 1976, had to work hard to prove himself in a notoriously difficult and close-knit industry. He played as a member of the Black Syndicate and Sel Construction sound systems, increasing his popularity as a presenter on his home country's radio station 96.1FM. Going on to create his own internationally respected disco, Slaughter has quieted the naysayers and shown that he is indeed multifaceted.

Dawg E. Slaughter has established himself as a successful deejay, songwriter, producer and artiste. Along with creating some of soca's most memorable rhythms, including 2004's Trample, he is responsible for memorable soca anthems including Tic Toc, Carnival I Love You and Spread the Love.

With this impressive résumé, Dawg E. Slaughter is set to blast soca fans away with his unmistakable voice and unique soca mixes, alongside Jamaica's own DJ Smoke.

Bacchanalists can party hard to Mr Slaughter's mega-mixes for $1,200 presold and $1,500 at the gate for general admission. For an all-inclusive VIP experience, tickets will cost $2,500 presold and $3,000 at the gate. All tickets are on sale now at Mas Camp and Ammar's only. Patrons must be 18 years and older to enter the VIP section, and must be 18 years and over to receive an armband that allows the purchase/consumption of alcohol in the general admission area.

Prior to entry, patrons must provide a valid government-issued ID - driver's licence, passport or voters' ID. Fans are also reminded to park their vehicles in designated parking areas only, as instructed by Bacchanal Jamaica security personnel.

The Bacchanal Fridays series continues on March 1 with Trinidad's number one husband-and-wife duo, Bunji Garlin and Fay-Ann Lyons, featuring the Asylum Band, alongside DJ Ritchie Ras. On March 8, the powerhouse female mixer DJ Duchess takes over Mas Camp and DJs Titan VCD and Sanjay rule socaphiles on March 15. March 23 brings the power and energy of the 'Wotless' team, Kes the Band with DJ Smoke and host Bambino.

Shurwayne Winchester is set to ignite the stage at Bacchanal Beach J'Ouvert on March 30 at James Bond Beach in St Mary, with DJ duties managed by DJ Smoke and DJ The Movie Stars. Bambino will be the host.

The ladies came out for the party last week.

Bacchanal Jamaica kicks off the 2013 Carnival Season with the Official Opening of the Mas Camp and first Bacchanal Fridays Fete, held at Stadium North, National Stadium Complex on Friday night February 15, 2013.
