THE EDITOR, Sir:
A few weeks ago, I had the worst experience of my life in the Ingleside neighbourhood of Mandeville. I was held up by three men at 5:45 a.m. One had a 9mm gun in my face and demanded my ring and chain. Naturally, I had to comply.
At this time each morning, several residents from the community do their morning exercise.
The matter was reported to the Mandeville Police Station and an arrest made and the suspect positively identified. The Mandeville police were very professional and certainly lived up to their motto.
I was assured that patrols would be increased in the morning to make sure residents are able to do their morning exercise without fear. This was done, and residents are out again in their numbers doing what they do best - walking.
I must take this medium to 'big up' the Mandeville police, especially Detective Constable Rohan Facey, for their professionalism. Please continue the good work!
