Time for Trench Town to shine

Published: Wednesday | February 27, 2013 Comments 0

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I write regarding Curtis Campbell's article 'Trench Town struggles, reggae shines' (Gleaner, February 17, 2013) in your Entertainment section.

My husband and I founded, last year, our own little tour company, De Music Buzz. Our motto is 'Travel with the Spirit of Reggae', and our main tour is a music tour from Negril to Kingston, especially with the visit to the Trench Town Culture Yard and the Trench Town Reading Centre, which is supported by our company.

With this idea, we want to boost community tourism in this challenged inner-city community and hope that the tourism dollar is reaching this part of Jamaica as well.

We just want to let you know that we are among those who intend to work towards bringing Trench Town to the shine it deserves, and we only can talk about all the positive experiences we have made until now in the Trench Town.
