Promoter Rojah Thomas and the Par team are gearing up to host their annual pool party, Pool Par. The party will be hosted at 4 East Kirkland Heights, St Andrew, on Sunday. Thomas says Pool Par is a haven for friends.

"Par started years ago and gradually became a series, so we added different concepts to it. Pool Par is the first for the year, but we also have Summer Par and Club Par," he said.

A PARTY LIKE NO OTHER

According to Thomas, the atmosphere created at this event is like no other.

"Everybody party, but real friends par. Jamaica is really a party country and we at Par try to create the setting where friends can chill together. We try to put in different concepts from typical parties to give patrons the opportunity to par with each other," he said.

Sponsors of the party, Conquering Lion White Overproof Rum, will deliver 2-4-1 drink special for the event's duration. Patrons are advised to drink responsibly. "For this party we will have Par Shots and Rumonade, which is lemonade mixed with rum. We have a lot of things in store for our patrons, so I can guarantee that no one will leave disappointed," the promoter added.

The music at Par will be played by DJ Flabba Dabba, Supa Hype, Sanjay and Copper Ash.

Thomas also promised that the pool will in fact be used at this party, unlike several spool parties where patrons stay away from the water. "People will literally be inside the pool having fun, instead of just standing around. At Pool Par last year we had people in the pool. I will be in the pool and I can guarantee that others will be inside as well," he said.

Pool Par will start at 2 p.m. and is expected to go until 10 p.m. Patrons are urged to turn out early, bearing in mind the ending time. The promoters have gone as far as to provide incentives for those patrons who turn out early.

Admission to Pool Par is $500 for an early bird ticket, $800 presold and $1,000 at the gate.

"For what you are getting I think the price is very reasonable. All the drinks are subsidised, so it's small price, plus the bar is going to be hassle free and we have variety at the bar. Just come with your friends and we will provide the environment for you to par," Thomas said.

The promoter said that ticket sales have been strong and they can be purchased at Cuddy'z in New Kingston, Grandeur at 7th Avenue Plaza and Di Trendz at Bargain Mall.

Parking will be provided close to the venue.
