The appeal by champion jockey jockey Dane Nelson against a 10-day suspension and $10,000 fine by the stewards of the Jamaica Racing Commission has been postponed.
Nelson's appeal, which was set for yesterday at the Winchester Road offices of the commission, has been pushed back to Thursday, March 7.
The stewards imposed the fine and suspension on Nelson for his failure to ride highly fancied HOGANS HERO on its merit in the sixth race at Caymanas Park race on Saturday, January 5. HOGANS HERO lost by a short head to the 4-5 favourite SOCIAL BUTTERFLY from the Wayne DaCosta stables.
According to Nelson, his attorney could not be present yesterday, hence the appeal had to be rescheduled.
The suspension should have taken effect on Saturday, February 16.
