According to the law, schoolgirls who become pregnant cannot stay in school. But the boys who get them pregnant are not punished with expulsion. Should they be expelled too?

  • Alex Blake

The boys should continue in school because they are the ones who have to come and help the girls now. So you can't turn them out. What kind of fathers are they going to be if they can't come out to anything? They must not be turned out of school.

I think everybody needs a chance. So if a schoolboy gets a schoolgirl pregnant, I think there should be a compromise between the parents. If you expel a boy because he gets a girl pregnant, you are probably cultivating a criminal.

The boys should go too. It's only fair because it takes two to have a child, so therefore it makes sense both of them drop out of school. It must be the same consequences for the same mistakes that you both made.

We really can't turn them out of these institutions. We have to set targets so that they fulfil their responsibilities. The parents must see to it the boys get some part-time work to help assist the young women who have the babies. The school should give them a chance to continue their education.

The girls are the ones who are usually kicked out of school, so I think the boys should drop out of school also. It should be equal. Both of them were involved in the act. It took the boy to get the girl pregnant.

They should be allowed to stay because they are still teenagers and they need guidance. So allow them to finish their schooling; and the same goes for the girls.
