Luvs, it's all about Jamaica's first lady of jazz and blues, the inimitable Myrna Hague. The lovely icon is set to take to the stage at the Courtleigh Auditorium in New Kingston for a two-day musical festival that promises to be nothing but spectacular! This showcase promises to be all that and then some as the multitalented performer promises to be at her best.
Dears, talk about a musical treat! Equipped with her years on the international stage, paired with her unbridled professionalism and sense of style that portends well, the fabulous event promises to be an exceptional concert of flawless musical order. Anyway my daahling-dears, musical happy days are here again, if only for this here very weekend, so let's begin the beguine and then some!
Speaking of beautiful people, fabulous outings and civilised entertainment, the annual and much loved and anticipated, Francophone Film Festival is here once more. Under the auspices of the French ambassador, Ginette de Matha; Belgian ambassador Godelieve Van den Bergh, and Robert Ready, the Canadian high commissioner - in association with the Alliance Francaise de Jamaique - the event gets under way with an official launch at the residence of the French ambassador on Wednesday. It promises to be a truly fabulous outing - with a cocktail prelude, to be followed by the first screening of this year's bounty of Francophone films!
Dears, another fabulously civilised outing is in the offing and definitely a preferred do for those in the know, gets under way on Saturday, at the Alliance Francaise de Jamaique, with a Belgian film, to be followed by another French film. Dears, with the festival slated to run for a week, you know we are talking about a week of interesting films and wines for movie buffs and francophiles!
Speaking of fine wines, it's all about Montego Bay's premier wine-tasting snobissimo of an event next Saturday at the prestigious Shoppes at Rose Hall in Montego Bay. The elaborate fare will be the place to be for oenophiles and patrons who will be treated to a selection of delectable food samplings as well as some of the very best wines and spirits available. Regarded as the premier wine-tasting event in Montego Bay, there will be a special emphasis given to food tasting and pairings. Proceeds from the event are earmarked for various community projects undertaken by the Rotary Club of Montego Bay. You know we are talking a fabulous outing for even more fabulous causes!

On Monday, the 11th: Dr Sonia Davidson; the indefatigable Robert-Louis Stephenson; the fashionable Dollis Campbell at the Office of the Prime Minister; the fabulous Cheryl Ryman; Nancy Walker, in Hartford, Connecticut; and the lovely Andrea Mundell-Bowen; who will all make it a special day of celebration.
The celebration continues on Tuesday the 12th, as the charmingly fab Dr Deborah Hickling, Kenisha Gooden-Gibson; Jasmin Brown-Howell; the lovely Sharon Ramsay Clarke, in Lawrenceville, Georgia; the lovely Lorraine Linton-Campbell, from Rock River, Clarendon, now in New York; and the lovely Janet Farrow, will make it that much more of a special day!
And on Wednesday, the 13th, the birthday celebrations continue with: member of parliament and Junior Minister Arnaldo Brown; social empress and pioneering entrepreneur Thalia Lyn; the celebrated Pierre Lemaire; the lovely Theresa Chin; the fab Tesah Linton; the charmingly fab Ealane Livingston-Smith; the legendary Maxine Stowe; Alvarista Yorke; Shelly-Ann Peart-James, now in Castries, St Lucia; will all be among the celebrants.
