With only a few hours left before the much-anticipated Simply Myrna Revue at the Courtleigh Auditorium in St Andrew today, the excitement is growing and the producers of the show are urging patrons to take their seats by 8:00 p.m. so as not to miss what is expected to be a spectacular opening.

According to leading act Myrna Hague: "My act will begin from the moment I start putting on my make-up, when I transform myself into the persona of a performer to give my audience more than what they paid for, and you know, I always have surprises in store."

Highly respected in the entertainment circuit as the consummate performer, the growing fan base has come to expect stunning outfit changes and stage settings to enhance the performance of her wide-ranging repertoire of jazz, lovers rock and other genres of music, not necessarily in her native tongue.

Highly Respected Musicians

Among the specially selected musicians providing backing for Hague and her guest performer, John Holt, are some of Jamaica's most highly respected musicians who have earned accolades both locally and internationally. Among them are the legendary Marjorie Whylie, renowned drummer Desi Jones, guitarist Rupert Bent Snr, keyboardist Chris McDonald and trumpeter Vivian Scott, son of the late great saxophonist Ossie Scott.

Joining the cast of musicians for the first time is bassist Michael Fletcher, while arranger and conductor Ralph Holding Jr, will be holding it all together.

The musicians will also provide backing for the second show in what has become a series in Mandeville with guest Ernie Smith.

Cultural ambassadors, the Cari-Folk Singers will perform both in Kingston and Mandeville.

The sponsors onboard for Simply Myrna are: The Gleaner Company Ltd, MegaMart in Kingston and Mandeville, Jamaica National Building Society, KLAS Sports Radio FM, Kool FM, CVM TV, the Spanish Court Hotel, Isle Chix, Golf View Hotel, Stage Records and The Piano House.
