Geordine Henry continued to show her class as she teamed up with Mikaylia Haldane to take the Open ladies doubles then with younger brother Gareth to capture the Open mixed doubles in the Sports Development Foundation-sponsored Doubles Mania badminton tournament held at the Constant Spring Golf Club last weekend.

In the ladies doubles, Henry and Haldane defeated Katherine Wynter and Ruth Williams 21-15, 21-13 and in the mixed doubles, they defeated the Caribbean and Jamaica junior mixed champions Jamari Rose and Katherine Wynter, who went down 21-18, 21-13. Henry and her partners were the top seeds in each of the events. She was also the winner of the Open ladies singles in the recent Tournament of Kings, a singles only tournament.

In the other Open event, number two seeds Anthony McNee and Dennis Coke defeated unseeded Willroy Myles and Jamari Rose 17-21, 23-21, 21-14. Myles and Rose put out number one seeds Samuel Ricketts and Sean Wilson, another junior pair.

Several juniors, in addition to Wynter and Rose, had very good performances, the best being that of 13-year-old Shane Wilson who got to four finals and captured three, those being the C division men's doubles with Tremar Barham plus both the B and C mixed doubles where his partner in each was another 13 year-old, Alana Bailey. Wilson and Barham were also very competitive in the B male doubles final.

Awards for the event are scheduled to be presented on April 6.

Ladies' Doubles: Christina Petri & Esther Reynolds defeated Jade Clarke & Sue-Ann Berry 21-19, 21-19.

Mixed Doubles: Shane Wilson & Alana Bailey defeated Orane Burke & Diamond Cassanova 21-16, 21-7.

C Division

Men's Doubles: Shane Wilson & Tremar Barham defeated Orane Burke & Ryan Dyer 21-13, 21-10.

Ladies' Doubles: Shantae Smith & Iesha Gordon defeated Diamond Cassanova & Eleanor Reynolds 21-11, 18-21, 21-14.

Mixed Doubles: Shane Wilson & Alana Bailey defeated Craig Allison & Taylor-Ann Chin-Quee 21-11, 21-18.

D Division

Men's Doubles: Denar Brown & Deran Gregg defeated Sean Rowe & Dillan Miller 21-11, 19-21, 24-22.

Ladies' Doubles: Elisa Cheung & Juleen Gentles defeated Itilia Campbell & Kristene Chin 21-8, 21-8.

Mixed Doubles: Nicholas Brown & Esther Roberts defeated Takeem McFarlane & Elisa Cheung 21-16, 21-15.
