A RESTRUCTURED HEART Trust/ National Training Agency (NTA) will hit the ground running come April 1.

Three new divisions have been created at the national training agency following a major restructuring exercise.

The new departments are Workforce Development and Employment, TVET Development and Support Systems and Information System and Technical Services.

Dr Wayne Wesley, executive director of the HEART Trust/NTA, said the agency has realigned its functions to ensure greater efficiency in its operations.

At least three directors are no longer with the agency in the wake of the restructuring.

Audley Shaw, committee member of the Public Administration and Appropriations Committee, last Thursday queried whether persons were axed during the exercise.

Wesley pointed out that the agency gave persons the opportunity to take redundancy or go on early retirement.

Shaw had indicated that the heads of the programmes division, the information technology division and the NCTVET divisions were casualties of the restructuring exercise.

The executive director said the National Programmes Division no longer existed and the chief information officer was no more a part of the structure.
