I would like to commend Garfield Burford, the erudite host and moderator of CVM TV's popular evening current affairs programme, 'Direct'. He has been doing an outstanding job of hosting this widely esteemed, informative and incisive television programme, with very interesting guests from various fields.

Mr Burford has been a very penetrative, no-nonsense and pragmatic programme host who is unafraid to ask the most uncomfortable questions. His programme is among the top 10 within the country on free-to-air television, and he deserves full praise.

'Direct' has already received a national broadcast media award, while Mr Burford has twice been named Journalist of the Year. He continues to make CVM TV and the journalism profession exceptionally proud.
