Customers of the Jamaica Public Service (JPS) should brace themselves for a 10 per cent increase on their light bills this month, a leap which the JPS is blaming on high fuel costs and the depreciation of the Jamaican dollar, even as it urged its customers to conserve.
JPS said a residential customer who consistently used 200 kWh of electricity per month will see an increase of just over $760 on his bill.
"This customer's March bill will be about $7, 918 compared to his February bill of $7,154," the light and power company said last evening.
