The two-year partnership between Digicel and Avaya has reaped benefits. Most recently, for example, Enterprise Account Manager Duwayne Watson was awarded the prestigious award of Avaya's Top Sales Executive for the Caribbean and Central America.

The technology that Avaya has brought to the Caribbean, and specifically Jamaica, has helped offer cutting-edge solutions that continue to deliver value to customers. The main focus for any business today is how to drive efficiency in their daily operations while cutting cost, and that is what Avaya is helping the telecoms giant achieve.

Head of Business Sales (East & Central Regions) Suzanne Palomino made those remarks at the Avaya Evolutions Expo on March 12. She stated that the company's partnership with Avaya started a little over two years ago and, so far, it has borne fruit.

So successful was this collaboration with Avaya that Digicel won the award for the Top Project for 2012 with the installation of Avaya into its downtown regional headquarters and call centre.

"One year later, the relationship blossomed and we began to sell Avaya to our customers, and not only have we been able to satisfy our customers with solutions from Avaya, we are now building on their own ideas and visions of what they would want their businesses to be," Palomino said.

Today, from easy-to-use, stand-alone systems to sophisticated and integrated multi-site solutions, Avaya has helped Digicel to provide value for its small, medium and large enterprise customers. To that end, they have seen companies increase productivity and mobility of their employees and deliver superior customer service. But most important, there has been an overall reduction in operational costs.

"Additionally, after just one year, we have more than over 50 business solutions personnel who are trained and certified in several aspects of the Avaya portfolio, and we continue to certify and train our engineers to be the best so that we can continue to bring the best experience to our customers, Palomino said."
