On a visit to the showroom on Wednesday, The Gleaner got a sneak peek into the luxury ride. Here are the facts.Silver Star Motors Ltd, Jamaica's exclusive Mercedes-Benz dealership, is today launching the A-Class and customers can visit the showroom to see more of them. At the launch slated for 51 South Camp Road, they will experience the distinct features of this compact sport luxury vehicle first-hand.

Jacqueline Sangster, Silver Star Motors general manager, said economic and other factors have resulted in the decision to make the compact model. "We're very excited about this year's launch because invited guests will receive an extraordinary experience; we are catering to a new generation of upwardly mobile Jamaicans who are looking to add a bit of luxury yet affordability to their lives," Sangster added.
The young, trendsetting Benz owner will get a car with a price tag that starts at $4.6 million and goes up to $5.9 million. It is equipped with air conditioning, Audio 5 USB, headlamp assist, and a 12-button multifunction steering wheel. The Mercedes-Benz A-Class is already fully equipped even in its most basic configuration.
So, in addition to the 40 miles you will get to each gallon of petrol in round-town driving, safety is big at Mercedes-Benz; it's not a question of price. Among other systems, the Collision Prevention Assist radar-based assistance system is fitted as standard.
