As honorary chairwoman of the evening, it was no surprise that the Queen Bey made a grand entrance in her form-fitting Givency ensemble. The strapless outfit complete with a thigh-high slit on the leg revealed boots that matched the same print that was featured on the skirt of her get-up. Seemingly hitting all the right notes, country singer Taylor Swift traded in her boyfriend for this black sleeveless dress by J. Mendel which boasted fierce-looking diamond-studded shoulders and jagged gold-hued cut-outs.

 With Mrs Carter as an honorary chair of the event, the 2013 Met Gala proved to be one of the swankiest stagings yet. The annual gala, which formally kicks starts the Metropolitan Museum of Art's yearly Costume Institute exhibit, always brings in a bevy of style stars, from models to designers to Hollywood's A-list. Under this years theme 'Punk: Chaos to Couture', the celebs came out donning studdings, black leather and even a few mohawks (take a bow SJP).
