Title-hopefuls Kensington and Melbourne will today seek to secure a spot in the semi-finals of the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) All-Island Limited Overs competition, when they square off at Kensington Park.
The contest, one of eight, will see Kensington and Melbourne also looking to extend to two their unbeaten run in Corporate Area Zone A.
Among those who are expected to lead the way for Melbourne are captain Nikita Miller, Carlton Baugh Jr, Andre McCarthy and in-form opener Jon Ross Campbell.
Campbell, in the meanwhile, made an unbeaten 160 against Kingston and according to Miller, he is looking forward to another solid innings from the young batsman.
"It's always good to see a player carry his bat through an innings and I must say 'well done'," said Miller.
"It's now for him to be consistent as it's good to get a big score, but what will be needed to take him from one level to another level is consistency."
Kensington, in the meanwhile, will be led by captain David Bernard Jr. They will look to Horace Miller, former national opener Maurice Kepple and in-form Delbert Gayle, who was a standout in the just-concluded ISSA Grace Shield competition.
"We have started off well with two wins and now have a very important game against Melbourne," commented Bernard Jr.
"We have quite a few youngsters in the team, so the hope is that they will put their hands up and make their performances count."
Kingston and St Andrew and Boys' Town will meet in the zone's other matchup.
Elsewhere, leaders St Catherine CC will look to seal their spot in the next round when they host Police at Chedwin Park, and defending champions Jamaica Defence Force will travel to Good Year Oval for a Corporate Area Zone B matchup.
Over in the South Central Zone, Clarendon will host St Catherine Cricket Association at Port Esquivel and leaders Manchester will entertain St Elizabeth at Manchester High School.
St James will travel to Trelawny Multi-Purpose Stadium to face Trelawny and Hanover play away to Westmoreland at Green Pond High in the West Zone.
In East Zone clashes, Portland will entertain G.C. Foster at Folly Oval and St Mary will travel to Noranda Bauxite to face leaders St Ann.
