Melbourne and St Catherine CC will be aiming to semi-final berths in the Jamaica Cricket Association All-Island Limited Overs tournament when they play Lucas and Kingston and St Andrew respectively today.
Melbourne, who will be led by stand-in captain Jon-Ross Campbell will host Lucas at Melbourne Oval, while St Catherine Cricket Club, guided by Tamar Lambert, will play away at Maxfield Park.
"If we win we will secure qualification so that will be the first aim," said Campbell.
"We also hope to use the match to continue our good batting form, which has seen us putting big totals so far."
SANS NIKITA MILLER
Melbourne, without regular skipper, Nikita Miller, who is away on West Indies 'A' duties, are expected to look to Carlton Baugh Jr, Campbell who scored 160 two matches ago, opener Tarique White and Andre McCarthy to score the bulk of their runs.
Struggling Lucas will be banking on the services of captain Wayne Gayle, Ramon Senior, Gerald Laing and Markon Guy.
At Maxfield Park, St Catherine CC will be hoping for standout performances from Lambert, Andre Russell, Danza Hyatt and Odean Brown.
Kemar Allen, who has been the lead player for Kingston and St Andrew this season, is again expected to perform well.
"Everybody in the squad is looking forward given that we have played good consistent cricket from the start of the season," said Lambert.
In other interesting match-ups, champions Jamaica Defence Force will host Kingston at Up Park Camp, Kensington will travel to Collie Smith Drive to face Boys' Town, and Police will entertain St Thomas at Elletson Road.
