ST ANNS BAY, St Ann:LADY ALLEN, wife of Governor General Sir Patrick Allen, followed up her Monday reading to the children at the Bustamante Childrens Hospital, which she sponsors, with a reading at the Doc Sue Happy Room at the St Anns Bay Regional Hospital on Wednesday.

Lady Allen was invited by the Friends of the St Ann s Bay Hospital and joined Norma Walters, wife of Custos of St Ann Radcliffe Walters, an integral member of the Friends, in reading to the children, who were only too delighted to have them there.

Beaches Ocho Rios Resort took the opportunity to take along the Sesame Street characters, including Cookie Monster and Elmo, for the occasion, and helped in lifting the spirits of the kids even more.

Lady Allen sponsors the childrens room at Bustamante Childrens Hospital, to which she goes on a Monday. Shes very dedicated. She wants to ensure that children who are ill do not stop learning, explained Walters.

We have the Doc Sue Happy Room here at the St Anns Bay Regional Hospital, so we asked her to donate her patronage nationally, and were delighted to have her. She has done a wonderful job.

After the reading session, Lady Allen also took time to visit other kids on the ward who were not able to be present at the happy room.

The invitation by the Friends coincided with the groups handing over of two ECG machines to the hospital later that day.
