Bridgeport High will be aiming for the quarter-finals in this year's schoolboy football Manning Cup competition, which is slated to kick off in September.
The institution ended in a similar position last season and their head coach, Tyrone Roberts, said initially they will be aiming for a similar target. "We have one thing in mind and that's going back to the quarter-finals," said Roberts.
With just five returning players, the coach remains confident.
"Right now, we are just optimistic," he said.
The five returning players are Rajay Smith, Shaquille Folks, Timothy Kamaka, Cleon Pusey, and Christopher Campbell.
The team has been in camp preparing and have played three practice matches in which they have obtained only good results. His team defeated Charlemont 5-1, Meadowbrook 4-0, and Greater Portmore 2-0.
"The preparation is bringing out the best of the players and the camp has been helping the team to improve their abilities," said Roberts.
"The team is focused and they will be making a difference in how they play and, if we take it a game at a time, then there shouldn't be a problem in making it to the quarter-finals," he added.
