The summer is pretty much over, but there are still a few events left for you to don those outfits that allow you to bare it all in a tasteful manner. We are still looking at prints, shorts, cover-ups and dresses before we divert our eyes to the fall collections. One such collection that caught our eyes via social media was the Murder She Wrote by Yaadie Conscious (YC), known for trendsetting out-of-the-box designs. Flair decided to feature this collection, which was a hit for the summer party season.
YC's Murder She Wrote is a fusion of the uninhibited '90s dancehall fashion and the edgy sophistication that defines the YC brand. Named after the popular Chaka Demus and Pliers hit, the collection boasts a selection of sheer, gold and mesh pieces, reminiscent of that time.
According to designer James Black, "I was influenced by the fun and flirty feel that summer brings - cropped tops, flared skirts, bold prints and skin."
"My favourite piece would have to be the red mesh cover-up. It's more versatile than you may think, not only for the beach. It adds a wow factor when worn over two of the summer's staples - high-waist shorts and bandeau tops. The oversized striped top also is a favourite of mine as it was inspired by a piece I saw in Beenie man's Modeling video, also from the '90s, but the black and white striped pattern brought it right to the forefront of 2013 summer trends," she ended.
The designs in this new collection are suitable for the ideal YC woman, who is confident, fearless in fashion, and living life without missing the important element that is sophistication.
