Rockhouse Hotel & Spa and Pushcart Restaurant, in Negril, will once again host their third monthly outdoor acoustic concert series.
Each month, Rockhouse honours Jamaica's rich musical tradition by presenting important artistes spanning the decades and genres of ska, reggae, and dancehall.
The series showcases each artiste with an intimate and elegant acoustic campfire performance on the cliffs overlooking Negril's beautiful Pristine Cove.
Each instalment of the series features international DJ/selector talent and is broadcast live on Radio Lily, the online radio station of Rockhouse's New York City sister property, the ultra-popular Miss Lily's restaurant.
This third presentation of the series features a live performance by dancehall super-sensation Chronixx and The Zincfence Redemption Band.
Caribbean lifestyle website Largeup.com had this to say about the young artiste: "At the young age of 20, he is spearheading a new reggae revival, heavy on unwavering positivity and a live-band sound amidst a Jamaican music scene overrun with synth-heavy dancehall riddims and explicit lyrics. The result has been described by Island Records founder Chris Blackwell as 'really great' and is altering the Jamaican music scene in a major way."
Serving to spotlight the many facets of Jamaican music, each instalment of this live performance series will 'tun up' after the acoustic performance with a DJ set by the world-renowned Brooklyn DJ, Max Glazer of the Federation Sound System.
Glazer has been the official tour DJ for countless artistes including Rihanna, Sean Paul, Wayne Wonder and Cham. Mixed CDs he has produced for artistes including Vybz Kartel have played an integral part in boosting many artistes' careers internationally.
A portion of all proceeds from the event series goes to the Rockhouse Foundation, the hotel's non-profit organisation that has invested more than US$2 million in building and refurbishing public schools and libraries in western Jamaica.
