THE EDITOR, Sir:
It is to be hoped that the police will arrest and charge the operator of the jet ski who killed the six-year-old girl on a beach in St Ann. The relevant authorities should promulgate very strict regulations for the operation of jet skis, particularly where bathers are around.
Far too often the jet ski operators behave like a bunch of cowboys without any consideration for bathers.
In the case of this little girl who, according to the reports, was on the land enjoying herself, it would seem that the operator lost control of the jet ski. Surely, he or she could have turned the jet ski away from the people on the shore.
Something must be done to stop the reckless operation of jet skis in Jamaica.
