Christopher Hamilton, the managing director of Hamilton's Smoke House Limited, will be joining Jamaica Broilers Group once the sale of the family business is finalised.
Jamaica Broilers announced the acquisition of the Kingston-based meat operation last week, but the deal is subject to closure in October.
Hamilton is said to be bringing his "extensive experience in meat processing and product development" to Jamaica Broilers.
Hamilton's Smoke House will continue to operate under its current name and produce the same line of products after the acquisition. The company makes 23 products under three lines - deli meats, sausages and hams.
The products are supplied to hotels, grocery outlets, caterers and quick-service restaurants, he said. Hamilton's is not in the export market.
Hamilton's was founded in 2000. The terms of the sale were not disclosed.
