THE EDITOR, Sir:
With all the violence and murder occurring in Denham Town, would it be an impossible task to cordon off the area with the police and soldiers and meticulously search and flush out the gunmen for a sustained two-month period?
Regarding social intervention, would it be such a hard task for the Social Development Commission, Ministry of Labour and Social Security, Jamaica Council of Churches and The Salvation Army to go in next week and offer solutions to some of the social problems?
Talk is cheap, as everybody can afford it. If after 51 years of Independence, the authorities cannot address crime and social problems in a confined area, Vision 2030 is a dream. I guess we are waiting for the Chinese to solve our social problems.
