THE EDITOR, Sir:
We need not reinvent the wheel but should benefit from the experiences of others. Miami and its suburbs were recovered and developed from the Everglades.
The development was conceived by Flagler and Miami Beach recovered by Collins from the mangrove swamp at the mouth of the Miami River. I visited the segregated town of Miami in 1950 when it was located at the Biscayne Boulevard Flagler crossing.
If our environmentalists and developers were to cooperate on the Goat Islands, wouldn't Jamaica benefit enormously?
