Guinness gets ready for Behind The Screen
As Guinness prepares for its annual celebration of its founder, Arthur Guinness, and people around who make great things happen, the brand is also readying for the next series of Behind the Screen. For the month of September, the brand will be the main sponsor of live music and performances slated for Usain Bolt's Tracks & Records each Tuesday night.
The original summer series turned into a much bigger event than expected which led promoters to extend the series.
Guinness is now putting a different spin on the event.
Today, Guinness will be having drink specials, prizes and ticket giveaways for the big concert.
For the first time ever, the event will feature two well-known selectors who are also performers.
ZJ Bambino and DJ Liquid will provide the entertainment for the night, which kicks off at 10 p.m.
Tickets are available at Usain Bolt's Tracks and Records for $1,200.
Reggae-soul comes alive on Mario Evon's new album
Reggae-soul singer/songwriter, Mario Evon will release the first single, Soul Tek, from his debut album Reggae-Soul Volume 1: M.E. On Love.
The song, written and produced by Evon, was recorded at Bob Marley's legendary Tuff Gong studio and engineered, mixed and mastered by the notable and well-respected Rohan Dwyer. The official online release is scheduled for today.
Beenie Man joins all-star cast for Anthony B album launch
International reggae artiste Anthony B is set to launch his latest album Tribute to Legends on September 28 at Club Revolution in downtown Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The launch will feature performances from Beenie Man, Romain Virgo, as well as reggae legend Freddie McGregor.
In a release to the media, Anthony B outlined what patrons can expect at the launch, which is sponsored by Toyota of Hollywood, Florida, Lexus of Pembroke Pines and VP Records among others.
Since its release a month ago, Tribute to Legends, a joint effort between Jyorken Kennedy's Masterone Productions and Born Fire Music, has been generating positive reviews in the international media.
The album will be on sale at the launch along with T-Shirts and other merchandise and memorabilia.
Other launches will be held in New York, New Jersey, California and in other cities and countries around the world.
Braata silent auction returns
A silent auction of art, jewellery and other exclusive items will be the highlight and centrepiece of Braata Productions' second annual fundraising gala, to be held on Saturday at the Jamaica Performing Arts Centre in Jamaica, Queens, beginning at 7 p.m.
The event will also honour three Jamaican stalwarts in the New York community - Pat Chin of VP Records, Fredrick L. Skervin, CPA, and The Jamaica Nurses Group of New York Inc.
Guests will bid on art pieces from China, Suriname, Jamaica and Africa, jewellery from acclaimed designer Andrea Levy, tickets to Broadway shows, season passes to 2014 Braata events, dinner at several fine restaurants and even tax preparation services from renowned New York accountants.
