THE EDITOR, Sir:
It is sad to see that a community as large as Islington in St Mary, possibly the largest in Jamaica, is without a post office. Imagine, since Hurricane Sandy blew off the post office roof in October of last year, people have to be making regular trips to Port Maria to collect their mail. The little poor people who are on PATH and pensioners have to make the long trip, which sometimes yield nothing.
It is obvious that nobody cares! There are four roads that lead to Islington and everyone of them is in a state of disrepair. Obviously, nobody cares; neither the member of parliament nor the councillor for the division in which this community belong. However, they need not worry. Next election, they will still win their seat.
