Correction & Clarification
In the ‘Movements’ column published September 13, 2013, it was reported that Dr Nigel Clarke, new CFO and deputy chairman at the Musson Group of Companies, “became CEO in 2009”, but should have read: “became CEO of the Facey Group in 2009”.
Nigel now CFO, deputy chairman at Musson
Dr Nigel Clarke, chief operating officer for the Musson Group of Companies, will be promoted to Musson Group deputy chairman and chief financial officer on October 1, 2013. Clarke, a Rhodes scholar, joined the group as COO in 2003 and took on the role of CEO of the Facey Group in 2009.
Barita Investments has new MD
Ian McNaughton has been appointed to the board of Barita Investments Limited and his title upgraded to managing director. McNaughton started at Barita as financial controller in 2008, becoming general manager in 2009. He holds a BSc in management studies and an MBA from Nova Southeastern University.
Dr Panton gets promotion
Dr Marc Panton is now a business development executive for the Fertiliser Corporation of America. He was previously the chief technical director at the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries from May 2009 to May 2013. Panton holds an MBA from the Northern Caribbean University, a doctorate in veterinary medicine from the University of Florida and a BSc in animal science from Cornell University.
Dr Michael Taylor now professor
Dr Michael Taylor, head of the University of the West Indies (UWI) physics department has been promoted to the role of professor. He joined UWI in 1999 as a lecturer, becoming a senior lecturer in 2008 before becoming head of the physics department in 2012. He is also director for the Climate Studies Group at Mona. Taylor holds a BSc in general and environmental physics and an MPhil from UWI, as well as a PhD from the University of Maryland.
Sean Clacken is CEO at DLM Group
Sean Clacken is now group chief executive officer for the DLM Group, the holding company for Hawkeye Electronic Security and Ranger Protection Company, as of September 1, 2013. Clacken joined Hawkeye in 1995, becoming director of sales in 2006. He holds a diploma from College of Arts, Science and Technology, now UTech, which he received in 1995.
