THE EDITOR, Sir:
I am not a football fan, and although I do not understand the game fully, I always watch when the Reggae Boyz are playing. Recently, when we were falling behind so badly, I kept asking myself, "What about Jermaine 'Tuffy' Anderson? Why isn't he on the team?"
Mr Whitmore's claim that he didn't have time to work on Tuffy's flaws is a sorry excuse coming from a national player-turned-coach. Even if they didn't want to take him overseas, he could have played in home games. He knows the stadium and the local conditions.
Even in the game against Costa Rica on Tuesday night, it is my opinion that he should have been put on at half-time or shortly thereafter. Who knows? The results might have been different!
