The Sagicor Motivational Seminar has been held annually for the past 30 years, targeting the financial advisors and administrative team of Sagicor Life Jamaica. The annual three-day event engages team members in several activities with the main purpose of enhancing skills and inspiring them towards personal and professional success.
This year's seminar will take place from September 27 to 30, in Montego Bay and will include both international and local speakers, including Wintley Phipps, Robert Stevenson, Stef Du Plessis, Chris Stokes, Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce, and Sandra Samuels-Reid.
Marcia Richards, seminar director, said Stef Du Plessis is probably South Africa's most-booked speaker, worldwide. "He heads Stef du Plessis and Associates - a people development organisation where the focus is on growing people at all levels, through self-mastery, teamwork, and leadership," Richards said.
Meanwhile, Richards indicated that Wintley is a speaker and singer who specialises in messages of hope, faith, and possibility thinking. "In 2010, he was given the Master of Influence Award by the National Speakers Association. Less than 15 speakers have been bestowed that honour. He has performed for every United States president since President Jimmy Carter," she said.
That the motivational seminar is in its 30th year speaks volumes about the calibre of the annual event. This year's theme is: 'The Success Formula: We Sell, We Serve, We Sell Again'.
"It is my hope that the ripple effect will be positive for the company because motivated and enthusiastic employees are an asset to any organisation," Richards added.
Each year a charity is selected as a beneficiary of the contributions of team members attending the seminar. This year it is Jamaica Christian Boys Home.
