Samuda resigns from RJR boards
Milton Samuda has resigned his post as chairman of the board of Television Jamaica (TVJ) as well as his deputy chairman position at Radio Jamaica (RJR).
The move followed controversy over the erasing of portions of recorded interviews conducted by the media with his clients Asafa Powell and Sherone Simpson.
Samuda became a director of RJR in 1996, becoming deputy chairman in September 2012. He was also chairman of TVJ from 2002 to September 2013.
Chong resigns Honey Bun post
Krystal Chong, former chief marketing officer of Honey Bun, resigned from that post effective August 31. According to her LinkedIn site, she became director of marketing and sales at Honey Bun in 2006 and then director of marketing and business development in 2009.
Peter-John Green relocating
Peter-John Green is leaving his position as operations manager for Airpak Express to take up a new role in South Florida, United States, as operations manager for Norbrook Capital Logistics (NCL) and their new acquisition of nine FedEx routes. NCL acquired Airpak in 2010.
Scott Jones now associate at Myers Fletcher
Scott Jones is now an associate at law firm Myers Fletcher and Gordon and is a member of the firm's commercial department. Jones was previously the commercial manager for One Jamaica Recycling Group and was also a former accreditation and media services coordinator at International Cricket Council World Cup 2007.
Ashton-Smith gets promotion
Dianne Ashton-Smith, communications manager at Red Stripe, has been promoted to head of corporate relations, effective September 3. The role was vacant from July when Marguerite Cremin was appointed the head of corporate relations, Central America and the Caribbean for Diageo. Ashton-Smith joined Red Stripe in 2008 and has been responsible for the design, implementation and communication roll-out of many company-wide initiatives and major projects.
