THE EDITOR, Sir:
We write in response to the letter published in The Gleaner of Saturday, September 21, headlined 'Oh no, Flow!', and to clarify for the writer, Rico, and your other readers the current situation in respect of the channel formerly known as Fox Soccer Network, which was broadcast on Flow Channel 710.
The decision to remove Fox Soccer Network from our line-up was entirely out of our control. As of September 1, 2013, Fox Soccer Network no longer exists on broadcast television. Fox Networks, operators of that channel, have since changed the format to an all-entertainment channel now named FXX, which is also not available for broadcast in the Caribbean.
As is standard practice at Flow, we advise our customers of channel line-up changes through various media, including but not limited to: email, social media, advertising on the channel in question, and recorded advisories on our customer care line. To date, an advisory remains posted on Channel 710 to advise customers that the channel is no longer available for broadcast.
We thank Rico for acknowledging the wide coverage of sports available on Flow and we continue to offer sports fans the most diverse offering of sports content with more than 40 channels covering sports.
We will continue to actively seek arrangements with other broadcasters who carry additional sports content in order to make these channels available on the Flow network.
