1. Chart of the Week: Alumina vs crude bauxite production 2013. Alumina production rose to 157,033 MT, representing the second-highest batch recorded for the calendar year 2013.
2. Industry update: Summer tourist season prospects bright or not? Data for May-July 2013 reveal that stopover arrivals have increased by 1.1 per cent to 552,921. However, stopover arrivals in July 2013 were 205,655, a two per cent decline in arrivals for the same period in 2012.
3. IMF Watch: Update on 2010 SBA and Omnibus Incentive Tax Bill. According to the IMF report, September 30, 2013 was earmarked for the Omnibus Tax Incentive Act to be taken into the House of Representatives. However, it was announced on September 24 that the completion of the Omnibus Tax Incentive Bill will be delayed.
