THE EDITOR, Sir:
Andrew Holness, while addressing members of the JLP's Area Council One, said that he is very suspicious of persons who are losers talking about winning. He then said that only winners can direct him and that his platform only has winners directing him.
With such a statement, how could he, therefore, say he extended the olive branch to those candidates of the JLP who were unsuccessful in their bid for Gordon House, not to mention the unsuccessful councillor candidates? This statement by Andrew is unfortunate and it does not represent a leader who champions unity.
How could he forget that he was the one who called an early election before ensuring the party's machinery was ready? He then launched a leader-centric campaign, was rejected, and now has resorted to calling his colleagues losers. Mr Holness, this is disgraceful and a far cry from a leader who loves and cares for his party.
Lest you forget, Mr Holness, you are the biggest loser of them all. You lost two elections which were centred on you; it is just a pity the party suffered too.
