On September 25, National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited (NCB) hosted its annual long-service awards and 200 of its employees were recognised for investing sterling service to the organisation for 10-40 years. Among them were Group Chairman Michael Lee-Chin and Senior General Manager, Group Human Resources Rickert Allen, who were both acknowledged for 10 years of service.
Addressing the awardees, Lee-Chin said, "You have consistently proven that you can be counted on, no matter what changes the environment or the organisation has thrown at you. That speaks volumes, not only to your commendable employability, but also to your resolve to make significant contributions to this organisation".
Group Managing Director Patrick Hylton noted that it was imperative to seize every opportunity to celebrate and encourage our people who have been the architects working and delivering throughout the numerous changes.
"There is no doubt that NCB has evolved because of challenges experienced within the local and global markets, but, because of your commitment, we have remained a major player in the marketplace. Today, we commend you for choosing to make your success ours," said Hylton.
He further noted that, during their tenure, several awardees may have moved from one end of the island to the next for a change of job function within the Group. Others have witnessed significant division and organisational changes around them as NCB has worked to improve its efficiency to remain competitive in a dynamic financial services industry.
"Our long-service awards underscores our commitment to recognising our employees for their outstanding years of service to the company," Hylton said. Our people's strength and tenacity have buoyed the resilience and relevance of this organisation. Even as we encourage our customers to put their best lives forward with NCB, we implore you, our employees, to continue to do the same."
For years, NCB has stood as the largest home-grown financial institution offering customers complete 360-financial solutions amid the rapidly changing and competitive industry. The 200 tenured employees cumulatively have given 3,580 years of service.
