Western Bureau:Beaten mid-season finalists, Strike Force, made it four wins from as many starts in the second round of the Premier League section of the 2013 J. Wray & Nephew Western Domino League, last weekend, when they scored a hard-fought 300-291 win over Tuff Gong.
Strike Force, who topped the first round but lost to reigning champions Fighter Jet in the mid-season final, moved to 41 points - a commanding seven-point lead over joint second place teams Tropical Riddim and B52 Bomb Squad, locked on 34 points.
In other games last weekend, B52 Bomb Squad brushed aside the challenge of Deeside Untouchables 300-288, Fighter Jet flew past Dynamic Strikers 300-271, Assassin surprised Tropical Riddim 300-253; and Cool Wave rolled over Tornado 300-272.
In Division One, mid-season champions Intouch continue to enjoy their status as the only unbeaten team across all three tiers - Premier League, Division One and Division Two - of the competition, scoring a good 300-288 win over Logwood, which kept them atop the standings on 46 points.
Beaten mid-season finalists Dynasty held on to second place after coming away with a big 300-253 win over Tropical Storm. Dynasty who have moved up to 42 points, have played three second-round matches while Intouch have seen action twice.
In the other division one games played on the weekend, Unity Strikers upstaged Uptown 300-286, Top Class turned back Rainbow 300-294 and Long Bay out-lasted Slickers 300-282.
In Division Two, mid-season champions Glendevon CDC kept their place atop the standings with a 300-286 win over Peace and Love, the team they conquered in the mid-season finals. The win lifted them to 41 points.
In other games, Perry Strikers knocked off Woodland Giants 300-298, Hawkeye Stingers stung Wakefield 300-295 and Western Stars surprised Tatch 300-295.
For this year's competition, the Premier League champions will pocket $100,000 and the Wray & Nephew Trophy; the Division One champions $65,000 and the Wray & Nephew Trophy; and the Division Three champions $30,000 and the Wray & Nephew Trophy.
When the competition continues tomorrow, the fixtures will feature action in the Premier League and Division One.
