Spanish Town High tagged Penwood High 3-1 at Cling Cling Oval yesterday to move to the top of Group F in the Inter-secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA)/LIME Manning Cup.
Spanish Town are on 16 points from seven games. They are followed by Kingston College, on 13 from six games. Spanish Town and KC have already secured berths to the quarter-final stage in the Manning Cup.
Yesterday, Eltham High (6) failed to show for their final preliminary game against KC at KC's North Street field.
The assigned referee, Carvel Banron, called off the game 30 minutes after the scheduled 3:30 p.m. start because only the home side was on the field.
That game was originally scheduled for September 10 but was postponed as the officiating team did not turn up.
When contacted late yesterday, ISSA competitions director George Forbes told The Gleaner that all schools were fully aware of the re-scheduled games.
Efforts to contact Eltham's Manning Cup coach Glenville Holmes proved futile.
