THE EDITOR, Sir:
Over the last couple of years, I have been taken aback by the poor coverage of schoolboy football in the print media. There was a time when schoolboy football was the gem of the nation. It brought together many from different schools in an atmosphere of football love.
Print media are failing to provide good coverage of our schoolboy football. I would think that with LIME as a sponsor, newspapers could have an entire page dedicated to the coverage of schoolboy football. But, alas, oftentimes one is lucky to find more than one report on games. Most times we are greeted with scores.
For persons who cannot attend all the games, it would be great to have the newspapers provide accurate and proper reporting on these games.
Jamaicans are passionate about schoolboy football, and we want to know what happens with all the teams.
