Three women were arrested after a robbery attempt in the vicinity of the Nurses Association of Jamaica (NAJ) head office off Half-Way Tree Road in St Andrew yesterday.
Garth Kitson, general manager at Guardsman Alarms, confirmed that at least one of the women was armed.
He said six members of the Guardsman team, along with two police officers, responded to a panic call from the NAJ's office and managed to apprehend the three females minutes after 2 p.m.
"[There were] three female assailants - one, it's alleged, had a firearm and was posing a threat to one of Guardsman Alarms' clients," Kitson said.
"Shots were allegedly fired and my team, whose client is the Nurses' Association of Jamaica, responded to the panic with a joint sting operation with the Jamaica Constabulary Force."
Kitson said they managed to apprehend all three women without anyone being injured.
The Constabulary Communication Network was not immediately able to confirm the incident.
